Anyone else waiting for a COVID result?

My husband requested a COVID test on tuesday morning, didnít give him the option to go to a test centre, had to get a home test delivered. This didnít come till Wednesday. They received the test Thursday 7am and we are still waiting for the results. hubby has rung and they have said it is now taking 72hrs for a result. He has asked if he can call on Sunday, they said he can try😡. They were really abrupt on the phone and really didnít care.
If he is negative and still coughing, he may need other treatment to sort the cough out. No wonder people are becoming more sick - the delay in results is causing delays with other treatment that may be required, hence those with underlying conditions ending up in hospital anyway. I work in the NHS and absolutely furious at this shambles of testing!

My colleague got a test result back for her son within 24 hours at the beginning of the week.

We had to take my son for a test this morning as he developed a continuous cough on Friday. Heís had tonsillitis symptoms prior to this for the past two weeks and the doctor thinks itís to do with that rather than Covid but have obviously had to get him tested. I hope it doesnít take 6 days! Heís already had most of last week off school and heís in year 11 so needs to be there.😢

Itís no wonder peopleís mental health is suffering. Even Iím at the end of my tether. Working in the NHS I also see that people are having to be off work because of this and are not always paid for the time they are waiting for these results. You wouldnít believe some of the conversations I have with patients who are absolutely desperate as they are living hand to mouth.
Having a bad day, sorry😰

Yes, they received mine 7.40am yesterday so I'm expecting another couple of days wait at this rate.

Are there different timescales depending on whether you post it or go to a testing centre does anyone know?
