I’m so worried and sad

Last year I had cancer. I’m in remission but also diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome. This is hereditary and I have a 50% chance of passing it on to my 3 children. LS means a higher chance of getting cancer.

Last week, my youngest daughter has been referred for an abnormal smear. She’s having a colposcopy on Monday.

Yesterday my eldest daughter said she’s been having bad headaches and been to the doctor. They did blood tests and 2 have come back abnormal. (Low Vit D, high protein and high ESR) He wants another blood test on Monday and if the results are the same, She will be referred to hospital.
They’ve been unable to start their Lynch investigation due to COVID, but I’m feeling not only worried and sad, but hugely guilty as I fear I’ve passed on the LS to them both.
Finding out I had cancer was horrendous but it was MY cancer. I was relieved it was me going through it and not them, but LS has changed everything.

Thanks for reading - I just need an outlet for my worries as they both live in a High risk area and I can’t even go give them a hug 😪

Sorry to hear that you have been through Cancer, a positive would be that you are here still today. It sounds like your daughters are very sensible and as soon as they are feeling unwell they don't ignore it and go and get checked out. I hope all comes back clear for them both.

Life can be so very cruel sometimes, and it must be very worrying for your family to have to deal with this worry especially with the extra worries we all face at the moment. Sending huge hugs.
I know it’s hard but please try not to feel guilty, it isn’t something you can control. Be proud that you raised such sensible daughters who went to see their doctors when things weren’t right.
I know on Etsy and Facebook groups they do little wooden pocket hugs, perhaps you could send those to your girls so that they can carry them with them for appointments.

So sorry this has happened particularly at such a crap time. Your girls both sound good and sensible, they have both done the right thing & luckily have been able to get appointments for anything that may be wrong. 'May' be wrong is the operative word here & there May not be anything wrong so think positive & send them both a note of encouragement to carry with them at their appointments as you cant be with them. Fingers crossed & Pixie Dust sent for all of you. X
