My mum has a blue disabled badge - how do I go about getting something similar in Orlando and how far in advance do I have to apply for one?

His reply to me;
"To obtain a temporary parking placard please complete the attached form in the top section to include the applicant's signature, travel dates, and full address. We also require a copy of your passport and blue badge (front & back). Upon receipt of your documents a $17.00 processing fee will be assessed and must be paid by credit card. Please do not email us your documents prior to 60 days before your travel date.

Its a really simple process as explained above and works perfectly. You need to supply your travel dates and they post this on the pass so only valid for one trip but really useful.
