We flew from Gatwick to Orlando via Dublin last Monday night/Tuesday. I had picked up an 'important flyer' lanyard for our 14 yr old who has aspergers. He was okay at Gatwick, although there was no additional support or recognition that it had been recorded on our booking. We flew in the evening so security wasn't too busy thankfully.
Dublin was amazing, we were pulled to go through passport control as we arrived on Monday night. Security and pre clearance were both fairly quiet on the Tuesday so there were no queues. We were offered pre boarding and the staff could not have been better. They have obviously been very well trained to spot the lanyard and support that passenger. I know it is an indirect option from the UK, but the support and kindness at Dublin really made our journey much easier. |
