The wife, the husband, and her 2 brothers! West coast madness 2014

Hi, I'm Amy, I'm 24, and my husband is James, also 24. We were married recently in Las Vegas, and have got the USA bug. No strangers to Florida, I'm desperate to go back but we thought that we'd like to experience a few other places! So we decided on a road trip comprising of 26 nights.
My 2 younger brothers decided to jump on the bandwagon so they are coming too! (Tomi, 23, and Karl, 20)

Being a teacher I'm lucky that I had 6 weeks to play with dates, so we are going on the 20th July, and returning on the 16th August. Here is the itinerary that we have booked with "America as you like it". We got a good price of around £2400 each.



20 July Fly from Manchester to San Francisco with US Airways
Departing at 1100 arriving in Philadelphia at 1350 and connecting
1600 arriving in San Francisco at 1904
Stay four nights at the Wyndham Parc 55.

Hoping to see Chinatown, do the night tour at Alcatraz, see the sealions, etc.

24 July Collect a 4x4.

Drive to Yosemite National Park for 2 nights at Cedar Lodge
4 hours 192 miles.
These 2 days will hopefully provide plenty of photo opportunities and fresh air!

26 July. Drive to Monterey, approx. 200 miles (4 hrs)

Stay two nights at the Carmel Mission Inn


27 July Monterey/Carmel at leisure.

28 July Drive to Santa Barbara, approx. 238 miles (4 hrs)

Stay one night at the Hyatt in Santa Barbara. Chill out day here possibly!

29 July Drive to Los Angeles – Stay 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Beverly Garland – 95 miles 1 hour 42 minutes.
Hoping to do the Warner Bros tour, Universal studios and see the sights.

31 July Drive to Anaheim and stay 5 nights at the Holiday Inn and Suites Anaheim 26 miles – 35 minutes. The hotel is just one block from Disneyland. Hopefully will also visit Knotts Berry Farm and Magic Mountain six flags.



5 Aug Drive to San Diego, approx. 120 miles (2 hours)

Stay four nights at the Palomar – a Kimpton Hotel.

Here we will do the zoo, Seaworld and Aquatica.



9 Aug Drive to Las Vegas, approx. 332 miles (5 hrs, 12 mins) and drop off car

Stay six nights at the Vdara in a Vdara Suite.
Hopefully we will have some friends joining us in Vegas for the last leg of our trip! We have done Vegas twice already but first time for the brothers! This time I hope we will get to see Michael Jackson's "One" show.


15 Aug Fly from Las Vegas to Manchester with US Airways
Departing at 1130, arriving in Manchester at 0840 the following day.

16 Aug Arrive Manchester at 0840
