We've actually had a good, crunched the numbers and have estimated that our holiday costs have gone about 15% with this years price increases. As a result of this, even with a 12k budget we've decided to look at other options and unless there are some great deals coming out with free dining will lmost certainly be knocking WDW on the head and looking at DLP annual passes with a much different and substantially cheaper USA holiday instead

Prices are insane for next year IMO. I looked at a 5* hotel (Hard Rock to be exact) in the Dominican Republic just to compare prices. 14 nights all inclusive (including top shelf alcohol which includes cocktails), flights for a family of 4. Was under £5k. The restaurants look really nice, far better than QSDP that's for sure!

and thats exactly why we decided to cancel our plans. When we can go on an All Inclusive trip to the Caribbean for less than half the price, with absolutely nothing else to pay it becomes a no-brainer. Thats why we are having mini fly-drive and villa holiday instead. We are only 4 hrs from DLP so will get Annual Passes and still have money left over for a significant amount of home improvements

I wonder how many more people will be thinking like this? The price quoted was inclusive of all gratuities too, so no having to pay an extra 20% every time you have a sit down meal. Those tips add up!
