Our adult daughter and her partner usually join us ( only Florida though) so it’s the space and extra bathrooms!

I don't like hotels anyway.

But one of the main reasons I love a villa is, I get up early, about 6.00am whilst OH likes to lay in til about 8.30am.
In a villa I can get up, make coffee, watch the news, sit round the pool all without disturbing him.

In a hotel, I'm usually blundering about in the dark trying to be quiet and usually end up crashing into stuff or knocking something over.
I definitely prefer a villa.

Because why have 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom when you can have several?
A few nights in a hotel room is more than enough for our family. It is faaaar harder keeping a small hotel room tidy than a villa/townhouse

Don't forget the private games room. More towels than you need. Super fast Wi-Fi. Child equipment.

But as already said being able to swim anytime you want and having a coffee when the sun is just about to rise

Apologies for a list but as I’ve responded to this question a few times it’s a bit easier for me to summarise. Would like to clarify this list though by saying that we’re both 70+ and have visited over 35 times but haven’t been to a park since 2010. Also there’s only two of us in a 4 bed villa. Our needs and holiday plans are very unlikely to be typical of other Dibbers.

1. Park at your front door not a mile away
2. Lots of space to spread out
3. Own private pool within 20’ of lounge
4. Own spa to watch the sun rise and set
5. Pop back inside any time for drinks – hot or cold
6. Spare bedroom to store shopping
7. Spare bedroom for family occasionally joining us (after notifying owner obviously)
8. Choice of bathrooms if one engaged – including one on the pool deck
9. Eat meals and snacks whenever you like prepared in the full kitchen
10. Listen to your own music without offending fellow guests and neighbours.
11. Watch TV in the lounge or bedroom (s)
12. Watching the mockingbird attack the hawks on the pool screen
13. Separate walk in shower in the master bathroom plus a large tub
14. Ability to keep on top of the clothes washing

Mick

BB

Better than sitting under the pool screen - just ask Johnny Irwin

Apologies to new Dibbers - long running terminology frustration

I love each and every one of these replies! Thank you. I’m even more excited about our villa stay now.
