Ah yes I remember reading your trip report - will have another read to refresh my memory! Thanks. Any top tips gratefully received

We stayed at the Hyatt on Burrard Street last year for a week. It's not romantic but it's clean and comfortable and our room had a great view of the city.

We’re also planning a trip which will finish with an Alaskan cruise from Vancouver and are planning on staying at Fairmont Waterfront. Not done much research yet but it looks very convenient for the cruise terminal and also close to the rail link to the airport.

We are doing the Disney Wonder cruise to Alaska in 2021 and so far have booked the night before at Pan Pacific

Is that a good location?

Yes there are a few near the cruise terminal that look nice. I like the idea of being able to watch the cruise ships coming and going! It seems like Vancouver is expensive though... Need to keep my eyes peeled for deals!

Did you get a good price? This is the hotel I always thought I’d stay at but prices seem very high. Maybe it’s just too early for our dates yet, though I suspect cruise season means that’s normal!

they all seem expensive! I registered as a member and you don't pay until you stay so I can keep my options open. I figure I could just stay the night before as I like the idea of just walking down to the ship.

We booked through Canadian Affair and actually the rates were better than we could get direct. Not sure if this was because we also booked Rocky Mountaineer through them or if we would have got the same rates with a hotel only booking. This was 2015.

Interesting. I’ve got them doing a quote for flights and hotel so fingers crossed. We won’t have time to fit in the Rocky Mountaineer this time - I always need a reason to go back!
