Port Orleans not reopening 2021?

Hi all
I’ve just got off the phone with WDW travel. I changed my hol from beach resort this October to port Orleans next may, with VH, but still couldn’t retrieve my booking on MDE. So called disney to see if there’s a problem, after being on hold while advisor spoke to a colleague, he came back and told me that the problem was port Orleans won’t be re-opening next year! And I would need to contact virgin to change hotel.

Anybody else heard this?

Glenn

I was trying to change from Animal Kingdom Lodge this year to Port Orleans Riverside next year and Disney advised it wouldn’t be open, so ended up with Caribbean Beach

This happened after 9/11. No need for all their hotels to be open as demand is expected to be low.

There’s a few resorts not opening. I’m sure though when (if) things get back to normal next year and they don’t have to restrict numbers, disney will want all their resorts open again.

It was only less than 2 weeks ago when I was allowed to change to port Orleans.

It’s been in the last 2 or 3 weeks they’ve taken them off sale.

Gutted because we only booked cbr 3 weeks ago just in case an offer came along that we could change to, without any offers or free dining we would have chosen all stars which is now off sale (and I’m sure the ones who booked it will get free upgrades).

So anymore hotels in that list? I was linked to music last week and not going until December 2021. If music is on the closed list, would Disney contact you to move elsewhere?

Guessing if demand picks up and the resorts that are open are starting to fill, they'll open the others one by one?
