We too have a socal city pass :-)
No problem with splitting up your Disney days
We are even sticking universal within our Disney days so they don't end so fast.
Did you know you can actually upgrade them to 4 day hoppers while you are there if you wish ?

Yeah, it's just the cost between the gate price for a 3 day hopper pass ( currently $265 for adults , and a 4 day hopper pass ( $289) , so $24

Absolute bargain ( when compared to the 3 day price )

Costs a further $16 to upgrade to a 5 day pass

Gosh, we stayed at Cedar Lodge last time and I thought it was a bit dodgy! But everywhere looked the same. We ate at the diner attached, very strange experience!
