Just saw ur thread and i love it! We go for my dh 40th (huge dream of his) in oct this year and reading this has made me soooo excited! 9 fine irish men sounds a must and i hadnt heard of it before! We are also going without our kids (21,19,17&16...we had them young lol!) and tbh between saving and working extra to save for vegas and next years florida hol we are exhausted and wondering if we have bitten off too much but i can feel ur excitment and it has def rubbed off this morning thank you!
We are flying from manchester with thomas cook staying at mgm signature and i have bo clue what what to expect or even what clothes to pack lol! I also have some weight to shift so have started 5.2 to get about 1-1.5 stone off so i can put it back on eating in the usa hehe!
I have booked grand canyon tour as surprise for dh to open on his bday (end of aug) its just coach tour as pennies cant stretch for helicopter! 😳 we were also thinking about $2000 for 5 nights? I have to find disney store and i cant wait to see american halloween crap in shops to buy hehe! Thinking of show amd quite fancy rat pack? Not sure yet!
Anyways i am rambling sorry! Thanks for posting u have cheered me up 😊👍🏻

kinda raging we didn't book for this year instead... would love to do grand canyon trip but we will see lol
signature... gorgeous x 💛

our flights have changed. not drastic. leaving dublin an hour later at 12.30 so now we can drop ds to school. this leaves us exactly 2 hours in jfk to get connecting flight. hope its enough. we clear customs in dublin and cases go straight through so it should be

subject to change
day 1 travel day...#

(hope it goes like this )

day/ night -1 ... ie the night before#
check bags are ready for wherever ben is staying at various times. check pre holiday gifts... ie diversion techniques as I have never left him for more than a night before so I will be upset never mind him... hmmmmmm wonder if on that note that dh will buy me a pre holiday gift so I don't get upset lol

this night calls for take away and wine

travel day again

up at 6am... cry. ... I know I will be anxious... get dressed into my fabulous travel outfit... (2 stone lighter) Jeggins long loose top and oversized cardigan with uggs/sketchers

drop ben to wherever lol at 7.30 and head to airport. (10 mins away)

check in... cry... look sad... upgrade lol (i wish )
dump cases and beer clink clink time... (ben who? tears? nah)
flight (at present ) 11.20am delta to jfk
bit of mooch in duty free then onto customs. hopefully not as bad as a Saturday (Thursday flight)
find seats... take out fluffy socks, flight socks and neck pillow... discard oversized cardigan... lift off... amazing films and programmes... 2 hours later dinner and wine followed by a snooze and cardigan becomes a blanket#

safe ✈ landing and a 2 hour wait... get something typically American to eat like cinabon#

jfk to las takes off... sleep , eat ,drink and land...#
  • cases arrive (Def a plus)
  • taxi to luxor (no tunnel)
  • no queue at check in ($20 trick )

  • amazing room in the pyramid (upgraded to the water suite)
quick mooch around then off to nyny to ride the roller coaster and dinner in 9fim

hit a wall then hit wall greens for supplies

back to luxor for bed

wouldn't that be a great start#

Sounds like a fab trip!
We went for my 30th & loved every minute of it !
The NYNY Rollercoaster was fab but very bumpy - we both felt a little sore afterwards
We'd also recommend doing the rides at the top of the Stratesphere
we also did a Scoot City Tour of the Red Rock Canyon in a little 3 wheeled car & a ATV Tour of the desert - which were both major highlights !
Have a fab time guys !

We off to Vegas in October next year for 10 days, so thanks for doing this, it's giving us loads more ideas.

So far we've got :

GC south rim coach tour, read a lot of reports of rip offs at the west rim and south rim is supposed to be more spectacular.
Red Rock Canyon by hire car, also maybe a half day to Hoover Dam.
A couple of days just gawping at the strip and picking the hotels we like best to really explore (probably all of them).
At least one, maybe two rides at the Stratosphere
Rollercoaster at NY/NY.

As for food we hadn't really started looking until a few days ago and it seems a lot dearer in the hotels there than in Orlando, so maybe a bit more investigation is required. Maybe try to find a Millers, Outback, Applebees and even a Steak'n'Shake

One thing I'd love to do is to get our vows renewed by Elvis, as it's our 20th wedding anniversary while we there, but Stella thinks there are more important things to spend our money on, so I'll have to work on that one.

Keep adding to this thread and don't forget a trip report when you get back.

Oh and have a great time
