The 747s are all ow very old and inefficient, terrible for the environment and very noisy.

This is the time for them to go and I for one will be pleased to see them sent to the scrap yard. I cant imagine what people think is so great about them or understand the fascination of sitting upstairs.

i'm really worried about the decrease capacity to fly from Manchester direct- We lost TC now virgin planes are half the size- Tui are moving further away from Stanford- those of us limited to school holidays are going to pay a large premium

It's lucky we are all different and like and appreciate different things and i love the 747 as do many others, yes they are now old and don't work as well as they used to bit like us humans as we get older we develop more problems, get cranky and don't do as many miles to the gallon as we used to, but humans hate being thrown on the scrap heap.

If the capacity is there they will add more flights.

Dont think you can compare an aircraft to a human, in the same way you are not using the same computer you were 25 years ago or driving the same car these aircrafts are not good. Time for them to be replaced.

Were Virgin atlantic scrapping their entire fleet of 747s last month? I thought there was a article online about it. They were bringing their recall forward since they hoped to start using the new planes over the next two years anyway.

I'm thinking of looking at tui now, at least whilst they go into sanford. I was going to get PE seats with Virgin but the prospect of the new smaller seating... no way is it worth the money they are charging for it, hugely disappointing.

Glad to see the back of them! Dont get me wrong our first flight on a near new Jumbo 25 years ago was amazing! But the last 5 years or so the planes have been dire. Scrapheap best place for them.

I didn't disagree with you i just said i love them like many others do, and yes you can compare to humans lol, the car you had 25 years ago will also be cranky and not do as many miles to the gallon as it did 25 years ago, just like the old computer it might still work but would also be slow and sometimes cranky
