I’ve stayed at both. They are both lovely and you really can’t go wrong with either.

HRH would work well for your age kids as it’s got a really cool vibe and is closer to the parks to make it easier to come and go.

RPR has got a much more relaxed Vibe and has a beautiful airy feel, but is a bit further from the park’s which may be a little less appealing to just pop in and out of the parks.

We had HRH booked for August but are having to rearrange to next July and thinking of booking a family suite at RPR to save a little over HRH. It’s much more expensive to stay onsite in July than August.

Oh, and club level was nicer at at RPR but not been since the refurb so not sure if it’s the same? HRH club is pretty hectic at times.

We love both
RPR is closed to Islands and HRH closer to Universal
HRH slightly shorter walk but not much in it
RPR more chilled and picturesque pool is deeper but no slide
HRH- can be louder but rock vibe - great water slide but the pool is very shallow
HRH slightly large rooms
Personally we go with the cheaper option usually as we like both-
We have stayed with five in a room at both

Have stayed at both, for us HRH feels like a continuation of the parks, there is music all the time, it is loud, I actually have video of us checking in and the live band was so loud we couldn't hear the receptionist, it feels like it never sleeps.

RPR feels much calmer, we prefer the grounds at RPR, once you open the gate, walk through the sandy area, past the pool and into the hotel it feels like you can relax.

I have teenage sons but they like to chill once out of the parks, they are not rock kids.

You really can't go wrong, we do club level but it works for us times wise and the sheer volume of food that teenage boys can put away, plus the soft drinks makes it a winner for us.

We also stayed for several nights, not The Dibb special.

We've stayed at HRH once and RP twice. I thought we would LOVE HRH but we come to the conclusion that we loved RP grounds and ambiance much more than HRH. It's a non brainier for us going forward to stay at RP because it's cheaper too!

If they are same price another vote for HRH, it’s closer to the parks, big rooms and it’s a very nice hotel- the pool is a different atmosphere, I really like it.

I prefer the theming at HRH but also love the pool at RPR so for me. For me HRH always wins unless there's a significant price difference then I choose RPR as it's really not a compromise.

Stayed at both and would stay at either again but if no difference in price then HRH feels 'special' but if a big difference in price go for RPR

Enjoy your stay I love staying onsite at Universal

Stayed at both definitely HRH for us, didn’t feel as busy around the pool and we preferred the rooms.
