Lostwithiel is very pretty and old, but the problem can be distance to both supermarket shopping and other things/attractions. Everything is a drive. That area is also very different from the West of Cornwall, more akin to Devon. It doesn’t have the same wildness and remoteness. It does have a really nice pub in nearby Lerryn (and several of its own). It has a few good antique shops also.. and excellent Pasties.

Lostwithiel is a place where I wouldn’t mind living.. but only if I had to leave the area further west, a proper village with that community type spirit.

The accommodation is huge thing for us when holidaying and DC was 5* as you say Lostwhitel is lovely just to add the shallow river running through was lovely for paddling and there was a lovely communal event on the green by the river, and I love a garden centre but the one there was beautiful, I would love to stay again and although there was a pool I now like to have s private jacuzzi.
