Car Hire with Virgin Holidays... Am I Missing Something ?

Hi everyone,

I’ve started looking for car hire for our November holiday (5-19)

There are just the two of us this year, so we are again going for a convertible (mustang or Camaro).

We would normally book through Auto Europe and pay 500 quid(ish) for 14 days hire. This year the prices have been coming in around 1700 quid 😱😱😱😱.

For some reason I thought I would look at car hire via Virgin Holidays and was very pleased with the result. £610 for 14 days for a convertible with Alamo including fully inclusive insurance.

Tried a fly/drive for the same dates and the car element worked out at £880. Still a long way from the £1700 previously quoted.

Am I missing something, or should I book this straight away.

Come on guys/girls, I need your advice.

There's some horrendous prices out there for November. Best price I can see for your dates with Hertz using a discount code is £523 for an Infiniti QX30. A Camaro is £1721 - I'd get it booked with Virgin before it disappears.

There’s a few of us in here that have been moaning about the prices for late 2021. Virgin were the first to drop the prices to almost normal levels. I’m hoping the others follow suit soon!

OP. Auto Europe has a flash sale for the weekend.

I just checked all of 2021 and Alamo isn't listed! National is though

Maybe the Alamo prices are so bad they have ditched them.I'm leaning more and more towards Sixt.

I noticed that they were very reasonable when I’ve looked ... I go for the fully inclusive insurance but is there anything I need to look for that might be missed off the insurance that’s important and needed please ? Was wondering if that’s why it was so reasonably priced ? Thankyou

Hi. Are you referring to a stand alone hire or the one through Virgin Atlantic that is flight + a car or finally a Virgin Holiday fly drive

The last one is not insured at all and needs a top up for everything sadly.

The first two I mention are fully insured and good to go. Nothing else needed at all.
