When do you think Disney will let us know

Disney say they expect masks to be needed till end of year, people with already booked trips will need some idea what's the situation.

I have a friend going in October, her daughter has autism and won't/can't wear a mask,. Someone she knows has said she will pay for her flights name change and park tickets.

As I go regularly she keeps asking me when she will know so she can let her friend take her place.

I told her I have no idea, anyone think Disney will make a decision to confirm if yes or no masks, or some sort of in between.

Tbh I think they already have by saying masks are expected to be needed until the end of the year. I can’t see this changing before 2022 they might relax the rules a little as in only needed in doors but I’d expect masks to be needed for the rest of 2021

Disney are following the guidelines set by Orange County and the "deal" they worked out to safely reopen. I don't think anyone can predict the future at the moment.

I honestly think that if it changes to masks only indoors this year we have done well.

Disney don't know, no one knows. It's a bit early to predict if we will still need masks or not in October.

Agree., covid and its variants are a moving target, not a sitting duck.

The only certainty is the lack of it.

We are due to go in November. Our balance is due in August, so we are assessing the situation in July and will take it from there.

My daughter has autism and cannot wear a mask so we’ve rebooked for December 22 to make sure they won’t be needed.

I would imagine they will follow CDC guidance as and when it changes maybe with a small delay.

As above.^

In addition though, Disney have stated their "best guess" and they've said that they expect some mask wearing to continue until the end of the year.

Bob Chapek said: "I will tell you what our expectations are in terms of the state of the world by then. We have no doubt ... that we’ll have some level of social distancing and mask-wearing for the remainder of this year".

So, if your friend is going in October, then I'm afraid it looks likely that some level of mask wearing will still be in place when they go.
