Our business account had over £13,000 taken out a couple of years ago. It was two transactions , one for £1000 spent in Wilkinsons... who knew you could possibly spend so much in Wilko !

Lloyds TSB were great thought I did have to ring the Philippines. I was on the phone for over three hours

Having that much taken out was very scary until we knew we would get it all back

Completely know how this feels. They intercepted my new credit card last week from the post. The Halifax were brilliant. Attempted to get over £1000?subscriptions/online goods👿

Wow I’d love to be so chilled as to not be upset by someone trying to steal my money. A bit unfair to suggest the OP is over reacting to an attempt to steal money direct from her bank account.

You are lucky they caught it this quick.
A few years back I got a call dh answered and shouted me that the bank were on the phone for me and wanted me to confirm some details. I ran down and went on the phone to them and they asked me a few questions and then told me to hold. I was on the phone ages holding n dh was saying to me I shouldn’t have given the info (I think they asked DOB n a few other things) so I try to put the phone down but can’t disconnect. So I left the phone and ran round to my mums and called the bank and was told they were scammers and they were holding me on the call so I couldn’t call out etc while they fleeced me! I had given them the final info they needed. I was passed through to the fraud department and within that 5 or 10 minutes they had spent £800 from my accountant there was another 200 pending to go out. They had to let it go out build a case but I got it back plus charges were waivered because they took me overdrawn but I had to prove transactions weren’t me. The thing is there was an Asda delivery ordered - so they had an address. I was never told who do it though and how.

I had a great laugh when it happened to me a few years ago! My cc company were on the ball and phoned to advise me that they had stopped a transaction in London for £650 for hair extensions - I was in the middle of chemo and my “hair” was a little pull on pink cap! My DD and I had a great laugh about it! Thank goodness your cc company were as good as mine!

Somebody tried to use my Amex in Harrods on line at the new year. At the same time my apple account was hacked, my husband asked if I had just tried to FaceTime him, he had only gone to the shop and I have never face timed anyone my whole life!

I was not even remotely angry, I was concerned and worried. But I was was mainly very pleased that both Amex and Apple detected the unusual activity and blocked the accounts.
