Mobile How do I use a silicone cake tin?

I’ve just bought a Mickey ears silicone cake tin to make a birthday cake for one of my daughters. I didn’t realise it would be floppy!

Any bakers have tips for using silicone tins? Presumably I need to fill it while it’s sitting on a baking tray and then slide the whole lot into the oven? Does it stay floppy when it’s hot? (Not a sentence I thought I’d be writing on here... )

yep. its floppy. means you can pop the cooled cake out easier.

just stick it on a baking tray and treat it as normal

Thank you - I’ll do a trial run I think (partly as an excuse to eat an extra cake)

Do you grease your silicone tins?

When I’ve used these I found the edges round the cake go very hard so had to cut it off maybe I did something wrong
