So very proud...

Of DD, she had her MRI booked for today, she has had loads of these as has them at least every 6months, always with a GA, we had an appt with the playteam on tuesday which went well, although she was very tearful, but she surprised us all by deciding not to go to sleep, and stayed still throughout as i was allowed to stay with her. Everyone was so pleased with her and i was so proud that she managed it, will make the future scans so much easier, and this is somethonig we had discussed as working towards, and she achieved it fantastically!

Brilliant. I think it must be hard to stay still but so much better if she doesn’t have to have a general.

Well done to your DD - I've had a few and find it very hard to stay still as an adult. My leg always get the shakes. FIngers crossed the results are good news xx

Thanks, her anxiety levels have been so high, so such a relief she can do it. All the staff were great too, making her feel that she could do it. She will need to have them regularly for the forseeable future so this is a huge step for her.

that is an amazing achievement you deserve to be proud well done dd

It must be a big relief for you that is something she will be able to do going forward without the added risks of a Ga too.

I am still in shock, as she managed not to talk either for that length of time! She is only 9 and unfortunately will need this monitoring all her life, eventually going to annually. Its not only the risks of GAs they made her feel so groggy for days and she was truly frightened of the last few she had. Seeing her sob on the bed waiting for her GA was heartbreaking, we are just so pleased the team were so patient with her. It made it easier as one of the patients cancelled so there was time on list to try this, but anaesthetise if necessary. I truly thought it was a couple of years off yet, kids are amazing at surprising us when we least expect it.
