Hotel near St Pancras Recommendations

I'm in the early planning stages of our first ever DLP trip and we will probably be travelling by Eurostar.

I'm thinking, rather than pay out an astronomical amount for peak time rail fares from Northants to London on the day, it may be cheaper to travel the night before off-peak and stay in a hotel. Has anyone done this, and if so, can you recommend a nice hotel that's not too expensive. We don't mind a short tube ride, although not too far as it will be mayhem in the morning with all the commuters.

We’ve stayed at the Premier Inn on York Way before walking (10 mins, tops) to St Pancras for the Eurostar train. It was modern, clean, quiet and very comfortable. Would definitely book again.

We have stayed in both the travelodges in Kings Cross. They are ok, nothing special but for the price you can't go wrong.

In February we are trying the Premier Inn Hub hotel for the first time, it's got good reviews so I will let report back to say how it is.

We are going from Wellingborough this half term. The train in the morning was astronomical so have got an early inducer Eurostar and are travelling down the night before. Was also much cheaper to go from Bedford. We are staying at a cheap place very close to St Pancras, don’t know what it’ll be like, was £72 and we will only sleep there so hopefully ok! We need to work out what time we need to get to station in morning now. Hopefully not too much before departure as our train leaves at 6.50!

We stayed at the premier inn next door to kings cross. I would highly recommended it, nice room, easy walk to the Eurostar, plenty of places to get food and cheap.

Thanks everyone. We are on a pretty tight budget. I’ve been number crunching and it’s going to be an extra £300+ for the train and hotel. We went to London for Disney on Ice last week and used Your Parking Space which only cost £6.50 all day. I’ve got a quote on the app and it’ll only be £45 to park near Great Ormand Street hospital for five days in a secure car park, so I think we might save the pennies and drive to London in the morning. 👍🏻

Premier inn st Pancras is a great hotel. We stayed there a few times before going Disney. If you have club card vouchers too you can use them to go pizza express next door.

Another vote for Kins Cross Premier Inn (York Way) - refurbed last year and its lovely. We don't stay anywhere else in London now, in fact we're there again at the end of Jan for 2 nights.

When visiting London we usually stay at the Hub by Premier Inn just off York Way. It's ideal for access to KX and Eurostar, with about a 5 minute walk. We booked two rooms for a Saturday night in March for £110.

For one night you can't go far wrong.

Seconding the recommendation for Hub By Premier Inn Kings Cross, for a short stay you can't beat the price or the location. Just booked my first solo trip to DLP and it would be my hotel of choice if I wind up going via Eurostar. (Just waiting on ticket prices for November being released before I decide on Eurostar or flying)
