Dining plan standard 1/2 board
DD doesn’t have free dining for trip in March but now wondering if it’s worth buying.
What do people think? She is there for 5 nights and would like to do Plaza buffet and Billy Bobs but otherwise would probably just do QS. Any ideas whether it is value for money?

No it’s not worth paying for, there are lots of QS options to fuel up in and around the DLP parks and village

There are also convenience stores in the train station at the entrance to the parks where she could get lunch and/or snacks, cheaper than in the parks themselves.

Honestly if you price it up its only worth it if you definitely want your hotel breakfast buffet each morning as that is worth 20-25 euros. If your DD buys breakfast elsewhere such as starbucks, mcdonalds, earl of sandwich etc or takes cereal bars, croissants, porridge pots from home then she might as well pay for each meal as she goes.
Plus it gives her more flexibility to eat elsewhere such as rainforest cafe and vapianos. |

Unless she's planning to eat in one of the meal plan restaurants at least once a day and is planning to use the hotel breakfast each morning then I really don't think it's worth it. She'd be better just to pay as she goes as it will give her better flexibility and probably save her some money too!

I paid for the standard half board when I took my Niece in October cos it actually suited us to have the buffet breakfast very first thing, then one meal we knew was paid for. I think the prices have jumped quite a bit this year, though.
The two buffets mentioned are on the standard plan, if 2 more of the available options were likely to be chosen, then actually it would be of benefit to have the plan. X |

Thanks for your help and suggestions. Sounds like the consensus are saying don’t bother to pay for the plan unless she wants to do a buffet every day. I don’t think she’s too fussed by breakfast
