The pictures of the cable cars they'll be using don't have any obvious aircon system.
They have Aircon.

It has been confirmed by Doppelmayr, the company making the Skyliner system, that the gondolas will not have aircon:

Plus, at least one of the gondolas has already been delivered and installed at WDW and it doesn’t have aircon:

wdwmagic/transportat...ow-on-site.htm

So, no, they don’t have aircon.

Definitely no aircon- apparently the confusion was caused as someone saw a/c on the plans and assumed that meant air con. Apparently the abbreviations they are using on the plans meant that A/C means air con and a/c means air circulation - I.e an open window!

Yes was confirmed on a site yesterday (well known one) Disney yesterday said had aircon is in them, turns out probably incorrect according to what I’ve read today.

I am actually quite stunned these won't have air con. Lets just hope Disney know what they are doing because if these breakdown in Florida heat with nothing but a few air vents - that isn't going to be fun.

I think I'll take the bus.

Perhaps Disney should remove some of the windows and allow the top third of each gondola to be open to the air? That would make the gondolas a larger version of those used on the old Skyway cable cars in Magic Kingdom. They didn't have aircon - only "passive ventilation" - and no one complained about those.

In today's litigious climate, they probably don't want to take the risk of having something that open.

Admittedly, my comment was said with my tongue firmly in my cheek. But if the gondolas had bars across the gaps preventing people from falling out or sufficient vents around the car to allow good airflow then they should be just as 'cool' as the old Skyway vehicles without any risk of someone falling out.

Anyway, things like large Ferris Wheels - which are just as open and go just as high - still exist in Orlando and across America:

Fun Spot doesn't seem to be concerned with being sued.
