Quick question about Loews Hollywood hotel, We are stopping here for 3 nights next August and was wondering if like the Orlando hotel do you get Fast pass included with your booking? as we are planning 1 day only at the park. Thanks

Loews Hollywood is right behind Mann’s Chinese Theatre - great hotel but not for Universal.

We're not doing Universal we are doing Warner Bros instead but isn't Universal just a quick drive away? The Metro goes from Hollywood to Universal too. But the original poster might be surprised or disappointed if he thinks it's going to be like Orlando. There's a lot of differences between Universal and Disney in California and Orlando I am finding.

Yes, you can drive there in about ten minutes - but I don’t think of it as a universal hotel, but you’re right you can get there easily enough. We drove to Warner Bros from there and used it as a base to see Hollywood and the theatre, which is literally a walk around the corner.
Yes the main difference between Orlando and Los Angeles, is that Orlando has really developed as a city because of the theme parks and they are very much big players in Orlando - but Los Angeles was a city regardless of Disney & universal, and so nothing is tailored around them, they just fit in to what is already there. Anaheim is very ‘Disney’ but it’s so far from the rest of the massive sprawling city because of the traffic, that it’s a destination off on its own really. Edited at 07:41 PM. |

Thanks for the reply's. not disappointing at all was just wondering that's all as i couldn't find any information if it was connected to the park like in Orlando. we will only be doing 1 day there anyway which is why we chose the hotel as its central to most tourist attractions like Chinese theater etc, and can just hop on the Metro and be at the park in 1 stop. Thanks all

It’s so easy to get to Universal from Loews Hollywood, just a short walk to the metro station, then a few mins on the metro to the next stop. Then just cross the road and catch the tram that takes you up the hill to the park enterance.

Hope the area has improved somewhat over the last few years, when we stayed at the hollywood Roosevelt some time ago area was dirty and full of druggies certainly did not feel safe walking around after dark.
