TUI Prices
Started looking again for 2020 and am totally shocked that TUI want £2000 per week for a Glenbrook villa that cost about $850 per week if booked separately.
Can book flights only but then they want the full amount paying up front so that rules out booking flights only and getting the villa for a better price. Premium flights for 3 at £3400 but with the villa £7600. Only by booking both can you save up and pay over time. Crazy. Should wear masks. |

Update
Contacted my local branch to ask about a fly drive.
Yes we can do that on a deposit and pay balance 12 weeks before fly date. We can also book fly drive and then remove the car. Great I thought lets have a price. Came back with £9070 for 5 premium flights as we added 2 more passengers. This was with no car. So basically if I could pay up front the premium seats would have been £1128 each. Because I want time to pay they want £1814 each. That's £686 extra each. I know pricing policies are bizarre but in my mind this a worse example than the Brighthouse scandal where customers who needed to pay instalments were charged way over the RRP. I've been a very loyal customer with TUI over the last 2 years and put a lot of money into my local branch. I am afraid that's it now with them. Both Kenwood Travel and Ocean Florida have come up with great offers so my business now goes elsewhere. Back to DIY holidays like a few years ago. |

What dates out and in, and where do you want to fly from?
If you are quite far into 2020 the flight prices will still be high as all airlines make more money from very early bookers. |

They are for July 2020. I know it’s a long way ahead. Their prices are available now and advertise a price but the moment you want to pay with a deposit they go up enormously.

Correct. There are many others and that is what I have done.
My point is to highlight this rip off. Other companies do not inflate them this much and in fact a dummy booking for this year with TUI was much more reasonable for the comparison between flight only, fly drive and with a villa. Just seems to be next years flights. Families that want to book through them in advance could easily get caught out by this. |

I was told to complain to the contact us form on their website, surprisingly it does not work. Then the branch gave me a prebookings email address to use. Amazingly it came back as undeliverable.
Seems like they don’t like to hear bad things. I am only following this through on principle now as they are making some customers pay way over the odds. |

TUI have gone off the deep end imo. When looking at prices for next years trip they were always several hundred pounds each more expensive, even than virgin holidays.
They seem to think they are selling a super premium product, when they are no better than Thomas cook, virgin or others. As nice as the dreamliner is, it isn't several hundred pounds more nice. In fact, I got Thomas Cook PREMIUM for £500 less overall than TUI economy wanted. No loyalty with travel companies here, go with the cheapest. TUI would need to be a few hundred less after the PITA we had with them in 2015 going to Malta anyway.

On the plus side. We have got good value Virgin flights and the villa we wanted for nearly £5000 less than TUI wanted.
Going back in July 2020. Can’t wait. |
