The Grand Tour...Day 21 Arriving in Boston

We landed around 8am at Boston Logan Airport. Our bags were off quickly so we went and grabbed a coffee and pastries to keep us going. The flight was fine but no one really slept so we were all feeling very tired and some were a little fraught.

Our hotel was on the waterside so we wanted to catch a water taxi as an alternative mode of transport. We needed to catch a bus first which dropped us off to the water taxi stop and fortunately one was there waiting for us, someone knew we needed as little stress as possible today! The taxi took around 20 minutes and cost $48, it wasn’t the cheapest option but it was great fun! Such a nice way to approach the City!

We checked in and again luck was on our side as our room was ready! We were only here for one night so treated ourselves to a more luxurious hotel and it was absolutely lovely, just what we needed! The kids went straight to bed and we left them for a few hours whilst we sorted stuff and showered etc…

Our room view...

We woke the kids who wearily showered then we headed out to grab some lunch, this proved to be quite stressful as no one could decide what they wanted so in the end we just grabbed sandwiches and snacks from 7/11, simple!

I had purchased a trolley and boat tour from Groupon so we validated our tickets and jumped on the next trolley, we just enjoyed the ride and chose not to get off. The commentary was good and informative and was a great way to get our bearings. After that finished we went and queued for the boat tour, it was quite hot by now and there was very little shade. The tiredness was really getting to us and the heat was not helping at all! Anyway the boat tour was good as it was nice to see the city from a different angle however the commentary was exactly the same as the trolley so it got a bit boring… The kids both fell asleep before we had even left the harbour!

We headed back to the hotel and all went to bed for a few hours, it was frustrating that we had to do this but it was definitely needed!

Once we were up and had a cup of tea we decided to walk down the road to Little Italy as our hotel was near. We wandered around and grabbed a pizza for dinner, for pud we stopped at Mikes Pastry’s and bought cannoli’s…oh my they were so good!

As you can imagine it was early nights all round!

Steps today; 17,780

Floors climbed; 8

*Tip of the day *Plan your flights better than me!

After such a busy time over the last few weeks I'm not surprised by your tiredness.
