The choices on VA's website have been the same for ages.
Starter: Tabbouleh salad (v) A Lebanese and Syrian salad of bulgur wheat seasoned with finely chopped parsley, mint, olive oil and lemon juice. Mains: Chicken teriyaki A Japanese classic of salty, sweet and sticky teriyaki sauce over chicken breast, with jasmine rice and Japanese inspired mixed vegetables. Loaded beef chilli melt Maple syrup glazed potato wedges loaded with a rich ‘n’ spicy beef chilli, jalapeno peppers (for extra kick) and melting cheddar cheese. Creamy mushroom farfalle bake (v) A sauce of mushrooms, cream and garlic smothered over pasta, topped with fresh parsley and Italian cheese. Mama-mia it's a-delicious! One of my kids opted for the vegetarian Asian curry as she didn't fancy any of the above.

To be honest (I am not fussy at all) I have given up on Virgin Atlantic's food. The past few times we have flown it has almost been inedible. So I get a meal deal at the airport. The menu reads very well, the reality is different !
The afternoon tea is usually very nice...

I agree with you Tom107, the main meal on Virgin Flights has gone down over the years, like you I take sandwiches and pies to be on the safe side but usually end up eating them.

Take your own, it’ll be a lot better.
I thought I had cracked it this year as just didn’t want the yuk on offer, I ordered a fruit salad. Great you say, *** rec 3 bowls all the same, chopped melons pineapple. It’s starter, main and dessert. Tea time arrived and so did my meal of 3 bowls of melon 😫 alongside a manky banana. God how much fruit can a person eat ! So be careful when picking a different option. *** oh and by the way I got exactly the same on my return journey 😂. Never again Edited at 04:39 PM. |

I’ve always thought virgin food was pretty good and haven’t ever been disappointed. The aren’t going to please everyone but I think they do a good job.
The stuff the US caterers supply on the journey home definitely isn’t as good!

I agree with you. I know it's not Econ but the PE and UC meals are so much better than they were 2 or 3 years ago. Very nice.
