So - I originally ordered on 5th December. I contacted them on 9th having heard nothing asking if it would get here by Xmas and if not could I cancel. I got an update saying order processed (first communication from them) and too late to cancel but I could return the item - yeah right! Then I got an email saying “it’s on it’s way”. Daily I have been checking and it’s “in transit” so last night I see a change BEING PROCESSED and it appears to be in NEW JERSEY - would it really take 8 days to get across the US? If so it never had a chance of getting to uk by Xmas! I’m so annoyed at ordering from them!

I'd try not to worry about it now.
There is absolutely nothing you can do to make it arrived quicker of replace it. If it arrives in time great, if not it's a little surprise afterwards. Don't hear yourself up. Christmas can be stressful, try to forget about it for now. And breathe |

I’m not surprised it took 8 days to get across the US. Their postal system is not like ours and is quite slow. My sister lives in San Fransisco and on times it has taken a over a month for a birthday card from her to reach us.
I would think it’s unlikely that it will arrive in time for Christmas, but there is still a week to go so 🤞 |

As above, the US postal service is not like ours. I’d suggest it will take less time to get to you from New Jersey (as that will be an international hub) as it has done to get from San Francisco to NJ.
If it gets caught at customs though that will incur a small delay.

I’ve ordered 3 things from the US this year and once it landed in the U.K. it arrived quite quickly. You will get stung for custom charges though and their handling fee. The tax you’ve paid is the US tax.

I just had a Canterbury scrum cap for my grandson come from New Zealand - fantastic service it left New Zealand on the 13 Dec and arrived first thing yesterday morning - with Royal Mail. I didnt pay any custom charges - was I lucky or dont you have to pay anything from NZ.

That’s the thing. i could kick myself that I didn’t stick with my original plan ordering from Amazon. That was coming from the UK (presumably they would have a shipment coming in) but as it was just pre order date of 13th I didn’t want to risk it.
Annoyed that I’ve gone with this option/it’s not going to arrive in time and that it’s going to cost me ? Extra on delivery. My query re DHL in general was I’ve seen a few posts re people having issues with delivery firms and wasn’t sure which ones it relates to so wanted to check. I have no idea whether DHL/Yodel/UPS are good or not. |
