Rhubarb chutney too sweet

We’ve just made rhubarb chutney for the first time.

It’s a bit too sweet though.

Is there anything we can add to reduce the sweetness?

I was going to say lemon juice or vinegar.

I’ve not got a lemon so do you think vinegar will help? Or will it be too vinegary? Oh I’ll have a go ...

I would have agreed with vinegar but add in small amounts and keep tasting I would say. Sounds like you will already have gone for it so hope it worked. Do let us know
