I think there is always going to be some kind of building work going on, it takes Disney soooooo long to complete anything.
And we didn't go to WDW 2011, 2012 or 2013 - so a four year gap.
It's Yellowstone next year and Japan in 2017 so 2018 at the earliest. TBH we have developed a love for California so 2018 may very well be Disneyland CA again.

Disney's building progress in Orlando needs a rocket up its you know what as my Mother used to say!

We went twice in middle of August and it was so busy it was not a nice experience! The first time we went for food and found somewhere to eat, went in disney quest(which wasn't too bad) and went back to hotel. On the other occasion we needed to go to the candy shop to exchange our meal credits for snacks(easily done) and get the $200 gift card which was bit of a nightmare as there was a big queue at the info desk in world of disney and only one person serving. That was in the afternoon and it was still pretty busy.
When my sister came later in the month she wanted to meet at downtown disney for dinner and I refused after how it was when we had been earlier in the holiday. She went to have a look in the shops still and said it wasn't very busy.
Will be nice when it's all completed though.

We were at DTD on numerous evenings during our stay for the last two weeks of August. Each time there was a great atmosphere with entertainment at three or four locations along the walk between marketplace and Cirque.Large projects take time and this is a large project happening in a busy area that is still functioning.
