I'm with you on this, I don't put any herbs in stews or casseroles, I cannot abide the smell of bay leaves simmering in a casserole let alone the taste . I just use meat and veg and a stock cube , sometimes I add a teaspoon of marmite or a dash of Worcester sauce but that's about it , I like plain cooking .
