Crawley is just another new town , in my opinion an ugly one and certainly I'd not want my family wandering the town centre on a Friday or Saturday night , yet for the same length of drive you can eat in lovely country pubs . Of course some people love Crawley for the night before as the leisure park has restaurants, cinema and bowling, perfect for wearing out overexcited kids.
We are discussing options , if people don't know they exist they can't choose what is right for them . |

We are staying at a premier inn about 3 miles out from the airport (chosen because of free parking as we won’t get down in time for early check in) our plan is to leave home at 6.30 and stop and eat at Cobham services at pizza express or something for about 8ish then carry on to the hotel. My 8 yr old son will be with us so our thoughts were then that we could put him straight to bed when we arrive and check in.

We’re staying at the PI Gatwick North Airport way - unfortunately whilst they are serving breakfast the restaurant isn’t open for dinner due to refurbishment. Think we will try Giraffe or have a room picnic from M&S

When we booked into the Premier Inn North terminal for our Caribbean cruise in Feb 20 a couple of weeks ago it was an option to add to the booking.
We didn't as we don't know what time the flight is yet and don't want to commit to breakfast if we have a later flight and want a lounge instead

Room picnic sounds a plan! Stock up in M&S or Waitrose on the way up.

If you're doing twilight check-in with either BA or VS there's an M&S Food landside at both terminals.

We usually eat in the airport at the Beehive which is a wetherspoons.
Its become a bit of a tradition for us and then we grab sweet treat from M&S on the way back to the room |
