Our Revised Plan for 2021

Like many, we had a cancelled trip in Oct/Nov 2020.

Now that our dates are available on BA, we have started to have another look and have adjusted our plan a bit.

Oct22 LHR - San Diego

Decided to do 4 nights in san Diego - looking at the Bahia as its in the right location and has rooms with kitchenettes that sleep 4 adults (we have two girls of 18 & 15...and have always detested sharing a bed even when toddlers)

Then we drive to LA where we plan to have 5 nights at the Garland whilst doing all the LA stuff including Universal and warner of course. Reviews look good, but personal advice welcome!

We finish with 4 nights in Annaheim where we have last years booking at Funteirland on hold and from there it's all disney before flying back from LAX.

I priced it all up and its a shade over £6,100 (not including Funtierland). This is for premium economy both ways - although i am pretty certin i still need to pre pay seats so thats another £550 which is a rip off. But what can you do?

However, i am a bit hesitant for many reasons.

BA only have guarantees until 31/8/2021
there is always a sale in January (but may not be this time)
I was seeing Bus Class flights for £688 before our dates appeared and now they are all £1850!
But on the flip, if USA opens up fully, prices could shoot right up.

Its a tough call.

Thoughts anyone?

PS - £700 deposit needed if i press the button on it.

BOOM - BOOKED!

Will detail later, but i played with another booking today and saw business class flights from LAX at £775 (return leg only) I could not resist. So i called BA and they built the holiday for me almost the same as above, called me back and i have coughed up a £700 deposit.

Total cost £6795. So we have bus class flights home for £170 more each that i was contemplating yesterday...now that's worth doing. happy with all that i have to say.

Done & booked with all the known risks attached!

All I’ll say of the Garland is that out of every hotel I booked with they were the best on the refund of a non refundable rate.
