Using the $200 gift card... any limitations?

Hi

Just wondering what the real value of the $200 spending card is. Are there any limitations, such as shops you can't use it, using it for food etc.

Our holiday is a little more expensive as there are no standard rooms available, so want to see where we can get that money back.

I dont know of any restrictions. I've used them to pay for meals and shopping in the parks, at the resorts and at Disney Springs. I've used them to pay tips when we were on the dining plan and I've also paid them off my room bill.

Interesting question!
Last time we had a gift card with our holiday was $100 5 years ago for our honeymoon. On that occasion they loaded it onto our room cards, so it could only be used in places that accepted those, which was any disney property really.

Last year I spent the whole thing in the world of Disney store on pandora charms 😳 But no, you go to world of Disney, pick the card up and I can be used anywhere on Disney property for anything you like.

It can also be used at the Disney character warehouse outlets at both premium outlet mall. You can also use your magic ands in there.

Personally we just charge everything to our bands and put the gift cards towards paying the room bill off.

You go to reception before check out day and use the giftcard towards the room balance. We did it last year.

You can have alcohol, tips, items bought from shops added to your room account. Then pay it off using the card.

If you have made any charges to your room and don't want to use your credit card you can choose to pay with the gift card, or to use it in part payment if you've charged more than $200.

You can also use it in Disney's Earport at MCO if you have anything left over. Or you can save it for your next trip as Disney gift cards don't expire.

When you check in, you will be asked to give your credit card details and then you can just tap you magic band in shops and restaurants and the cost gets added to your room. At the end of your stay, the total you have charged to your room is added to your credit card. If you want to, you can go to reception before this and use the gift card to pay off what you have charged up to the $200 obviously, anything over then goes to your credit card, but you could go and pay in cash if you want to. Apologies if you already knew this.
