Do you need a Credit Card to reserve restaurant?

New to the Dining Plan thing , we have the DDP but tried to book up "Be our Guest" restaurant via My Disney Exp. and even though we have a resort booking on My Disney Exp. it asks us to back up the reservation with a Credit Card (we dont have one currently, just a Debt Card).

I have ordered a new Halifax Credit card though to use for the holiday in May 2020

Is this normal?

A debit card will work. It�s just to confirm the booking as if you don�t turn up you�ll be charged $10pp. You have to cancel with more than 24 hours notice to avoid the charge.

I didnt see an option for a Visa Debit card and VISA didnt work when I tried that. I'll try again.

Funny - it went through the third time, although it did say there were errors saving to my profile. Thank you for the advice. All good now it would seem.

Did you use the app or the website? I had trouble registering my Halifax Clarity card on the app but it was fine on the website.
