BA - Choosing Seats

Hi All,

We have our trip booked in August next year, this is the first time travelling to Orlando via BA, normally Virgin, we did book Thomas Cook due to cost, however that failed...

With Virgin I can usually book my seats when the flight has been booked, however this does not seem to be the case with my BA booking; I've tried to pre-book my seats, but it is not available, does anyone know when I should be able to book my seats?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
We were in exactly the same position as you, booked our Virgin flights with Thomas Cook for Oct 2020 !
We now have them booked with BA & I just phoned BA & booked my seats .
But if you go to Manage my booking then click on each flight detail
Ie: BA? Flight to Orlando underneath it says seating, click on that & you should be able to book from there .
Hope this makes sense & helps .

You should be able to book seats on a normal BA booking as soon as it is ticketed. Did you book flight only or part of a package, and direct with BA or through an agent?

You should be able to pay for your seats as soon as you have made a booking although if you booked via a third party you may have to contact them to do it. You can usually only select seats for free of you are a higher member of the BAEC or buy a full priced flexible ticket or require assistance.

Thanks for your help, I've investigated and looked further at my booking and I can see that it does not have a ticket number yet, so it must be, as it is with a 3rd party they have made the booking, but not ticketed it yet, I'm assuming because we have not made payment.

I will speak with the agent

we were able to book our seats straight away but we did book directly through BA - obviously most people can't check in until 24hours before take off btw
