Spend a few hours in Celebration where it "snows" every evening and have a wander round admiring the beautifully decorated homes.

This one is a definite on our list! Is there a skating rink there?

Great call, skb 123. Celebration is amazing at Christmas, and driving around to see the houses all lit up for the festive period (make sure you don't miss the ones on Golfpark Drive - they're truly unbelievable, and our pic still doesn't do it justice!) is a real highlight.

Yes, there is a small artificial rink, primarily for children, but good fun all the same

We regularly visit Celebration in all seasons but last December we did do the drive around the houses - as we often do.

Stopped outside a house just off Eastlawn Drive (could have been Pondview Court - we drove along so many ). The whole of the house and garden were themed as National Lampoons Christmas Vacation with the film showing continuously outside. The owner even had a table outside with free cookies and hot chocolate with a visitor's book. He came out while we were there and we chatted for at least 15 minutes about Celebration, Christmas and Halloween.

My favourites have been recommended already such as the campground, resort tour and Celebration. You might also catch the Fireowrks from ther rsorts if you are there at night.

It might be worth checking Leu Gardens to see if they have any seasonal happenings, it's also near Winter Park.Bok tower gardens,a bit further out, decorate the house for Christmas, which is very pretty, and there is a children's garden which is fun.

I know you said no parks but Seaworld usually has Black Friday ticket sale and you might be able to get a good deal. SW is lovely at Christmas.

I would definitely second the recommendation for SW during the festive season. We think it is the best of all parks at Christmas, with superb decorations throughout the park and some wonderful shows, including O Wondrous Night, which is simply unmissable.

If anyone in your family likes dance it is well worth getting tickets for Orlando Ballet’s Nutcracker at the Dr Phillips Center in Orlando.
The Walt Disney Theater there is magnificent and it is a real occasion - a chance to see the great and good of Orlando in all their finery!

Local towns often have winter parades is you are there at the right time. There was one in Winter Garden when we were there last year.
