Extra Extra Magic Hours
I thought it would be interesting to gauge peoples opinions on the Extra Extra Magic Hours that have been announced as I have noticed a few people who are of the opinion that being at a theme park for 6am (HS only) is way too early..
This will obviously only apply to those who are onsite during September and October. I've added multiple votes as I am in between doing them all throughout the holiday and potentially missing a few and working around some later fast passes. Edited at 08:25 AM. |

The 6am opening is there for the people who will do it, and trust me people will do it.
Its something we might do on one of our final days. Ironically it may be on our ‘rest day’. If we get up and out and do what we wanna do in HS before 9 - we can then leave as the hoards arrive and head back to the hotel to chill round the pool all day. It’s not for everyone though. But I think it’ll be an interesting experience for those who do it. As for the rest of the parks, I’ll be doing Magic Kingdoms magic hours on my first day as I don’t find that too early. And AK I’ll probably try to hit but use it to do everything but Pandora Edited at 08:27 AM. |

I’m fine with it and think Disney have actually thought it through. Yes it’s early but it doesn’t interfere with too many adrs and lets face it people were probably going to start queuing around that time anyway for a 8am/9am opening hence clogging up the entrance for rope drop. I like other parks have it as well as a choice . You would have to be an absolute Star Wars nut to do a 6am everyday (some will though) . I’d rather have this than fastpass because At least you have to turn up , people would have taken a fastpass even if there was no interest in going imo.
It’s interesting how many people are annoyed at Star Wars , yet they knew it was being built . It was inevitable it would open as soon as as Disney invested a billion into this as well. I Remember the same comments about avatar yet pandora commands the longest queues and I bet most still have never seen the film . It’s the ride technology that draws the crowds exactly the same as GE will.

I am OK with this - I can see us taking advantage of it. Afternoon snooze at the pool will definitely be on the cards.

We are not massive Star Wars fans but will do 6am park run once to see it. We chose this year instead of 2o20 to avoid it/the crowds but obviously we were meant to see it. DH even said if they do a 2 o'clock in the morning opening we will do it for the fun of being there at that time !
Agree with Mexy02 in that I am glad no FP's for it as people would definitely book them just because they could not because they were fan's at least this way you can go if your interested n not if your not bothered.

I think its a fabulous idea 3 hours will be enough for a few people so will leave e the park by 10 which will relieve a few of the crowds!
We will visit at 6am on our 2nd day and be in the pool for 11am then maybe go back later for fantasmic!

I can see us doing it and then going back to chill at the pool as other have said. It gives us the option to do the fireworks at night and maybe evening EMH followed by a chill day at a water park/shopping.

I actually think this is a good idea. With the amount of extra people that will be at the parks, new hotels being built etc. makes sense to try and spread the crowds out a bit.
