National Rollercoaster Day at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens

Just in time for National Rollercoaster Day on 16 August, SeaWorld Orlando is hosting a two-week 'Thrill Fest', culminating in extended park hours on 'Thrill Fest Ride Night' to experience coasters until midnight.

Guests can take the rollercoaster challenge and ride all of their favourite thrills at SeaWorld Orlando: Manta, Mako, Kraken and Journey to Atlantis.

During the day, rollercoaster enthusiasts can go behind-the-scenes and experience an exclusive Tech Talk with operations and maintenance leadership teams to see the Manta ‘coaster house’.

Over at Busch Gardens Tampa, thrill seekers can take National Roller Coaster Day to new heights with a private tour of three major coasters, including a trip to the top of SheiKra.

Get an insider look and stand inches away from one of the main launches of Cheetah Hunt. Finish it off with a tour of the control room and ride Cobra’s Curse - all before the park opens.

The two-hour tour of three major attractions will include behind-the-scenes views of maintenance areas, control panels and more.

I wonder if Falcons Fury will be fixed for this... fingers crossed.

I didn't know Falcon's Fury was closed until I saw your comment and found it on the Busch Gardens website. Does anyone know why it's down and since when?

We are going in November, my sister in law hasn't been to Busch Gardens yet and FF was definitely on her coaster list

It might be open for when you visit, we go late september till middle of october, already rode it last year but would be nice to ride it again

No idea why it's down or for how long. I did email BG but got a standard "closed until further notice" response. I did read on another thread that it's waiting for a spare part. Really hoping it's open by mid-Sept as we added BG to our trip to ride FF.

While this should be considered rumor only, the rumor going around about why Falcon's Fury is now closed claims that the ride has an issue with the lift motors located in the top of the tower that will need to be repaired before it can reopen. On a related note, I was told the day it went down last month there were power outage issues at the park, so it is possible that perhaps some electrical damage was done to the motors.
Either way, Falcon's Fury sounds like it will be closed for an extended bit of time due to this unexpected problem.
