We’ve had a hot springs hot tub for over five years now and can’t speak highly enough about it - it’s been a true blessing in this lockdown, no doubt at all. Ours is a limelight flair (6 person including lounger)

We looked at getting a hot springs. Have you wet tested it? I think we wet tested the propel and the flair. I was convinced we'd get a Hot Springs but after wet testing we didn't like it as I kept floating and there were a couple of niggly things that we didn't quite like. Was a lot of money to spend so had to think carefully.

We also tested a Jacuzzi 235 and 335 but we ended up buying an Artesian 748L - as soon as we got into it we felt at home and it is literally the best thing we have ever bought!

Don't believe anything you hear about how much they cost to run though, even from other people. It totally depends on where you have it, insulation, how much you use it, what temp you have it set at, how long you use it for, your electricity tariff etc etc. Ours was costing about £60 a month during the winter for electricity but it's come down to about £45 now and it's worth every penny! We've had it since November.

We have a shoreline Gibraltar which is a 5 person twin lounger hot tub and are happy with it. I agree about the running costs though, we crank the heat down during the week if we are busy and also have solar panels but it still ends up costing us around £45 per week I would estimate but it totally depends on usage and other factors. DH plans to fit an air source heat pump to ours which means it heats quicker buts costs less, they are expensive but will save us money over the long term.

After a LOT of research we ended up with a Coast hot tub, I was pretty certain I wanted a Canadian make due to the insulation, they're designed to run in temps down to minus 15/20, also advice I had from friends with tubs was to avoid any Chinese / Japanese makes as it can be much harder to source parts than a UK/US/Canadian make. (from a friend who had a Chinese make and struggled)

We've had our Coast for 2 years and couldn't be happier with it, when the lids on it uses barely no electricity at all, but when we're in it, the smart meter does shoot up quite shockingly.

I would definitely factor in a maintenance plan to your costings also, we have them come out every 3 months, empty, clean all the filters, jets etc. and refill then service it annually, it's not a cheap thing to do, but sensible when investing 5 figures into a tub.

Good luck, definitely one of our better choices, well used by all of us
