OMG... How Much...! ?
So, yesterday I tinkered around with bank statements and exported them to Excel to analyse and do a bit of budgeting. We got a new puppy recently so needed to rebudget to take into account the additional spending requirements of the new member of the family...
During the 3 months March - May I split our spending between "normal" direct debits and bills, food shopping, entertainment expenses (TV/Games) and takeaways... OMG, on average we have managed to spend just over £100 per month on takeaways... That'll pay for Alfie...

Wouldn't be surprised if we were at the £100/week mark.
Easily 2 per week, and usually get at least 1 lunch delivered per week too...

We don’t eat takeaways, but prior to all of this going on with corona we would eat out at a restaurant 3-5 times a month and we probably spent around £90-£150 on that.
I think once restaurants open up again I can see us probably still eating out 2-3 times a month. We are two adults, no children. |

we get a takeaway a week too and usually around £15. During lockdown its become a regular Friday night thing and we try to get from a different local restaurant each time. They are all doing it to try and survive and its no less risky than shopping in my humble opinion. we take everything out the containers and put into our dishes as soon as we get in and then put all containers in a separate bag to bin.

Think we may spend about £20 a week on take away but since lockdown we have had 4 takeaways since 18th March. I am missing them but only because i can't be bothered to think about cooking or actually cooking. However when we have had them we have really enjoyed and appreciated them.

£100 per month appears not to be too bad then.. based on a couple of these comments...! I don't feel too bad now. But, it's at least double what we were spending prior to March... !
