Tipping at valet parking

The hotel we have booked for next year has valet parking and I have no idea what to tip a valet attendant. Can someone please advise?

You tip when you pick the car up and I work on $3 to $5. Sometimes I'll tip a couple on drop off as well but it's not normally expected.

I tip $2 at drop-off if I’m checking in at the hotel and they get my bags out of the trunk. Ditto if I’ve been shopping 😱.

$2 also when they bring the car round for me, especially if they’ve started the aircon !
