Princess Cruise with Confidence
We’re due to sail on 25th July from Southampton but, even though both older members of the group have now been vaccinated, we still don’t feel things will be “normal” enough for the rest of us so want to push the booking back to 2022. The issue is that Cruise with Confidence only allows you to push back to May 22 or to your departure date. In 2022, the identical cruise to the one we’re on doesn’t depart until 30th July. I wondered if anyone had been in this position and whether Princess (or other cruise lines) had been flexible.

Sorry for being a bit slow on the uptake but I don’t recognise’ push the booking back’ in relation to Princess Cruise with Confidence.
Is the solution to cancel your current July booking and receive a FCC for any deposit you have paid and then rebook a cruise you want using your FCC? Sorry if I’ve misunderstood your question. Having thought a bit further, is your question about getting the July 22 cruise for the same price as the July 21 cruise? If so, Princess don’t do that - the rebooking is at the new price (even if they cancel). Edited at 01:52 PM. |

Yes, sorry I wasn’t very clear. I know we’d be able to cancel and have the FCC but the website says it has to be used on sailings either before May 2022 or within a year from the commencement of your cancelled cruise, whichever is later. Because we both work in schools, we’re tied to school holidays and we’re restricted to what we can opt for so it limits our ability to use the FCC. I was wondering whether Princess might be likely to be flexible under the circumstances and allow us to put it towards the equivalent cruise in 2022, but that departs 5 calendar days later than it does this year, meaning (strictly) we’d miss our window to use the FCC by 5 days. It’s not about the price. Ironically, the 2022 cruise is £50pp cheaper at the moment than we paid for 2021.

Thanks for clarifying. We have found Princess to be flexible so it’s probably worth ringing them and pleading your case - especially with your holiday restrictions. We had an issue with a couple of future cruise deposits bought on board that had expired but they extended them no problem. Good luck.

I feel that as cruises get pushed more and more they may get more flexible with their policies so its definitely worth asking them!
