Anyone make their own healthy shakes?
As above. I’ve recently been watching Youtube videos talking about making shakes with different fruits and also adding flax seeds, chia seeds and vanilla protein powder. I quite fancy the banana & peanut butter one for breakfast. Just wondering if any of you have made them and if they taste good. Also I only have a Braun stick blender (had it for years to purée baby food!), would it be worth investing in a different type?

I have the ninja blender and make lots of smoothies, I always add greens of some sort either kale, spinach or broccoli, a handful of porridge oats, then some fruit, any fruit will do, I often just use frozen berries instead of fresh fruit, I tend to mix it with cranberry juice or if I haven't got any cranberry I would put in a bit of cooked beetroot as I prefer my smoothly to be pinkish colour as opposed to grey/green.

I have a cheap £10.00 blender and i just make skimmed milk either natural yogurt or Greek fat free yogurt and a handful of fresh or frozen fruit and a dash of honey its lovely and refreshing to be honest not sure of the calorie content though...tried it with the protein powder and nuts ..kale etc but didn't like the taste at all ... I got a protein shake that everyone said tasted like McDonald milkshake but it made me gag

Thank you both, i’m looking forward to trying some shakes, but will have to be careful with the peanut butter in there as that will add calories! Just need to decide on which shakes I want to try and get some ingredients sorted.

My eldest son is a personal trainer and makes himself various shakes
He uses kale chia seeds flax seeds along with other fruit and veg. I bought him a nutri bullet for Christmas a few years ago which he loves for making his shakes.
