I keep mine in the fridge as I find hiding it at the bottom of the salad tray is the best way to keep it for myself!

I prefer it cold too, it doesn’t ‘have’ to be either way, it can be served room temperature or chilled according to taste

If in the UK - never in the fridge! It's too hard when kept in the fridge and not as nice!

I now live somewhere that is hot all year round and I still try to avoid putting chocolate into the fridge unless I don't have a choice (if it's melting). It's so much nicer when kept at room temperature!

We always kept chocolate in the fridge, it’s taken my 15 years to convince dh that it’s better at room temp 😂

I always used to take it out 30 minutes before I wanted to eat it, or stick it in my pockets for a few minutes.

The only chocolate that goes in the fridge now is Easter eggs as they melt too quickly otherwise.

The simple reason for not putting chocolate in the fridge is around food science and the fact that it can cause the cocoa butter to seperate and creates a white film on the chocolate. So its more about aesthetics than anything else really.
The same thing happens when chocolate gets old (or beyond it's shelf life). Still safe to eat just looks odd.
Still prefer to not store it in the fridge though. Tastes much better...
