Along with thousand of others we didn't get to go last November or next April both within the policy period so I'm going to ask for a 100% No Claims Discount when I renew.

I was looking at DLP before so looks like I’ll be sticking closer to home for my Disney fix. For me currently the price of insurance is too prohibitive.
I mentioned earlier about the comparison site I use which searches with the regular companies along with those that are more specialist.

I have extensive conditions but still managed to find reasonable coverage.

I've bookmarked this link thanks but I won't be able to report until August. I've tried other comparison sites in the past but not this one. Sadly they've never been any use for us personally. They've given us attractive premium quotes but looking at the small print they EXCLUDE cancer cover.

But when our last four renewals have been north of £800 I do test the market a fair bit.

Fingers crossed you can find some reasonable quotes. I use that comparison site as it was actually recommended by one of my consultants when I was struggling to compare on money supermarket as no one would cover me

This years insurance is coming in at £488 which is a steal for me

Thank you

The insurance included with our bank sadly stopped when we reached 70. Between my cancer in 2009 and Joans in 2016 we were lucky to use Eurotunnel who gave us full annual cover for around £110 for both of us. Sadly Eurotunnel stopped providing worldwide cover a few years ago. The last four renewals have been between £800 and £850 with either Staysure or Boots and as we usually go twice a year (unless Covid or cancer stops us ) we just treat insurance as part of the holiday cost.

Ah it’s such a shame you can’t get bank cover as they really are so reasonable. Mine used to cover me but then decided they couldn’t add my conditions as they developed so I’ve had to shop around. I’m not loyal to a particular insurer though as long as they provided the cover I need.

Those are such high premiums. I feel for you... mine have ranged between £400-600 for annual cover and as you say it’s something I just factor in to the overall holiday cost now.

Of course now Covid is here it’s about also checking the level of cover provided for that too. It definitely pays to shop around

Some people always fly economy and some business - we always fly PE in the middle

Some people always stay in a WDW hotel and some in a motel - we always stay in a villa in the middle

Some people always eat at Victoria & Albert and some at MaccieD - we eat at the likes of Longhorn in the middle

These are all free choices but we never compromise on travel insurance. We chose the most competitive available with no excess, best individual category cover and unlimited medical cover.

Stay safe
Mick

Love this sentiment! It’s definitely not something you want to skimp on. I always check for the same, no excess and unlimited medical... having said that there are some times those companies who charge way above others for the same service.

But yes, I’d never want to find out I wasn’t covered or didn’t have enough cover when ill in the US.

I always keep in mind that their healthcare system has bankrupted many people - I don’t want to end up one of them

Just done a dummy run on this site, and very pleased with the resulting price as I am post cancer, and of a certain age... so will certainly keep a close eye on this site... thank you scouse_minx
