ATOL protection?

Have booked pofq, park tickets with free qsdp for next year direct with disney, and planning to do diy flights - probably virgin or ba. But have just realised this may mean I won't have ATOL protection. Presumably as its relatively unlikely that either disney or virgin/ba will go under this is not a big issue? Be glad to hear your thoughts.

You are correct, this means you will not have ATOL financial protection if you book flight-only, separately from your other bookings.

You are also correct that it’s not likely to be an issue in the case of Disney, BA and Virgin, though anyone should ensure that they have appropriate travel insurance in place from time of booking, especially with DIY.

Thanks for reassurance, and I bought insurance as soon as booked with disney, so hopefully should be ok ☺

Don't forget if you buy your flights with a car that component will have package protection.
There are also regs on buying flights and accommodation that gives you a layer of protection too, but I don't know if it is the same as full package protection. You will have to look into it I am afraid. They have to either be bought at the same or within 24 hours and via the same provider/website I think. But as I say, worth checking.

We buy our flights with a hotel room for the night. Sometimes RPR if going to do it anyway, or the night before the flight at the hotel.

Last time we got the flights and a car for the August and had the hotel night in December in London.
