Fuming... last time I order Christmas from M&S
We went today to pick up our ordered food from M&S, however the turkey we had ordered, they said they had, had problems with the supplier and told us they had given us 2 turkey stuffed joints free of charge instead. I am sorry I know it they were free but we are disgusted, why were we not informed by email so we could have got a Turkey somewhere else.
Thankfully I rushed to Sainsburys and got a Turkey Crown. Hubby said I should make an official complaint. Next years its back to Waitrose for us. x

Not good enough. I switched to Costco Jimmy Farm ones 3 years ago. Always delivered, cheaper and better (rare breed,. Hung). They are farmed on a farm in Essex, branded Jimmy's farm. They are more expensive to buy directly from the farm than via Costco.

I would complain too, I online shop at Asda anything I'm not happy with I always request a refund whether that be damaged, poor substitution or too much fat on my bacon... If I shopped instore I wouldn't pick a pack like that so why should I accept it sent to me lol. For me Christmas is the one meal I make an extra effort with plus we have company this year for lunch so what I order is what I want, my turkey I dreaded similar happening so I bought mine a few weeks ago and it's in freezer... Must remember to take it out.
I know they gave you substitutes and for free but if its seriously inconvenienced you then let them know about it |

That’s a shame as we’ve always had pretty good service from them. There has been a couple off exchanges over the years but they’ve always been an upgrade.
A couple of years ago My Dsil order the luxury veg pack and they only had the standard, she complained and they sent out a luxury one in a taxi on Christmas Eve afternoon! I understand what your saying though, as it’s disappointing to not get what you asked and paid for. Kat

I’m with you op, we’ve just been for Sunday lunch , all booked weeks ago , and they aren’t doung Sunday lunch due to supply issues. Why didnt they ring me on the number they insisted I left when I booked 🙄 we still ate but would have been nice to know. Communication is key to customer service .

I'd be furious as well OP. Lots of complaints on our local Facebook page about M&S food to order this year - stuff with expired or short dates on, stuff missing, 2 hours of queuing etc. I couldn't be bothered with the hassle, we have an excellent butcher and brilliant local farm shops, so that's where Mum gets most of her stuff - everything else can be bought in advance.

Humm I wouldn't be happy either. I've given up with m&s pre order. I've had a few substitutions over the years. I ordered some vegatarian party bits for my sister in law only got one I ordered. I got a bottle of complimentary prosecco but I really needed the buffet stuff.

I ordered all my xmas dinner from m&s in 2012 went to collect on xmas eve and absolutely one of it was what I had ordered all items were substitutes ! Never used them again after having to go to other shops to source all my dinner items on xmas eve 🙈
My niece also unwrapped her m&s turkey on xmas eve to find it was off😱 |

I got everything delivered by Ocado this year and I must admit, I won’t be going back to M&S next year. It was a lot easier and my Turkey at half the cost seems a lot better too although we’ve yet to eat it
