Some of the trees need to go as they block the views and some are leaning against the building.

A lot of SSR trees aren't native to Florida. Some are remnants of the old Institute and some are from New England to give the NY State feel. However they are shallow rooted and in Hurricane Irma took a hammering hence the $800K clear up bill for SSR.

I agree some are lovely and add to the feel, some though can best be described as scabby.

Edit. There isn't 1 palm tree in SSR, Wonder who can spot where the nearest one is - I know!

I suspect you are right ref decent size ones. However all the staff joke about it. As you drive out of the SSR main entrance it's the other side of the road and is only about 6ft high. Wild probably.

When SSR was built they chopped down all the existing ones that were in the Institute grounds as they didn't want Floridian 'style' trees.

agree with Tom some of the trees when you look are completely over the balconys which make the rooms dark and no sun

our room view is a bit dire so any extra sun/ light in this corner would be great

Yes it's interesting about the trees, and they say SSR isn't themed! It's surprising that so few people notice this.

Ali. Time for a complaint in my view. They can't have the penny and the bun. They rip off Guests in every conceivable way so they need to compensate them as well. That doesn't mean cash in my view but it does mean having access to a parking space.
I would be creating holy hell.
