Taking a suitcase full of bubble wrap - is this ok?!
I don't have a bubble wrap fetish for starters!
But on my outbound flight (LGW-MCO) I am taking a whole spare suitcase just containing bubble wrap and maybe a pair of trainers or my GHD hairdryer to weight it out a bit (I am flying Premium with Virgin so 2 cases is allowed) Basically, the reason I am taking all that bubble wrap is because I intend of spending a lot of my hard earned pennies on delicate xmas decorations and candles from bath and body works / Yankee Candle. Is it likely to be broken open to be checked as it weighs so little? Its an expensive case which is opened by a built in padlock thing and I would be upset if they smashed it open to have a look inside. Also, (yes I know I am panicking here lol), but surely theres no worries taking so much bubble wrap into USA is there? I mean, they won't think its for something like drug use or anything would they? Sorry if this has already been asked on another thread, but just looking for some piece of mind.

Can you not put half of your clothes in both suitcases, so they are a bit even in weight? Or, do your cases nest...so you only have to deal with 1 case going?

They dont nest. But I suppose I could throw bits of clothing in both. I am going solo and only for 7 days so I won't be packing the kitchen sink, but I guess I could mix up the weights by putting bits in.
Thank you, that's a good tip.

Some of my cases have the built in padlocks but I use standard padlocks instead for Orlando as I have read of a few people having them broken open by TSA. Just a thought if they are expensive.

How do you mean? because with my ones, you push the little zips into designated holes and set the number combination.
Shall I just join the zips together with a padlock rather than using the internal locking system?

We’ve taken an almost empty case before no problem. If you put a TSA lock on it (if it hasn’t got one already) they will use their keys to open the case. We’ve had our case opened loads of time with no issue. If you are still scared about them breaking the lock don’t lock it.

I know lol, but I'm not hiring a car. So I've just bought 2 rolls of the stuff from Amazon for a few pounds. Just easier to have it all ready so im not flapping to buy some over there
