we go 3 times per holiday, plenty to do and a very relaxing park.

we left it late like second last day and were sorry we had not gone earlier in the holiday and were sorry we had not done it sooner so we could have managed a second visit

I would plan it for early-ish in the trip. Then you can always add in a 2nd day near the end of the trip depending if you feel you liked it enough to go back and also if you feel you missed out on anything. The drive isn't too bad and if you split it up at separate ends of the trip it will help.
